“The best cover is always the next one, the one you haven’t seen yet.”
Drifting in and out of Amsterdam’s cute & copious little concept stores and finding little sources of inspiration along the way is one of my favourite things to do on a dreamy saturday afternoon.
So you can imagine my delight when i stumbled across a precious vintage gem in the guise of an illustrated archive of the most memorable Vogue covers, decade by decade, from the magazine’s 1892 debut to the present day.
Hidden within the pages of this throwback treat was none other than my so-called Birthday Vogue Cover; that is the September 198-*cough* edition featuring the beautiful Cindy Crawford as the cover girl, flaunting impressive brows and popping her golden collar in a way that would make Usher proud.
Love the fact that my BVC exclaims “go for the best” too, quite fitting actually given my perfectionist, virgo-esque nature… the sentiment must have rubbed off somehow ;)
