There’s been some tropical popical topical buzz this week after Golden Globe nominated Irish beauty, Saoirse Ronan, gave a shout-out to the aforesaid Dublin nail bar on the the Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday. Which reminds me… i visited the tropical-icious salon myself last year when i was visiting my bestie and have been meaning to tell you all about it. Thanks for the reminder, Saoirse :)

With the weather outside proving far from tropical right now (is it summer time yet?) i’m already starting to feel effervescently exotic, bubbly and balmy just thinking about this place. Located on Dublin’s South William Street, tropical popical brings a whole new meaning to getting your nails “did”; i’m talking sipping on lilt from coconuts adorned with cocktail umbrella picks and funky straws, while feasting your eyes on the fabulously vivid display of flamingos, neon lights, palm trees, pineapples and parrots which miraculously succeed in bringing a taste of the tropics to the emerald isle… and did i mention the David Gandy adorned bathroom? (i’ll leave the last one to your imagination, ladies, but that wall is worth a visit in itself, i promise you.) All this to the beat of some cracking tunes, of course.

Bountiful, tropical splendour aside, the nail artists are awesome and truly talented.

So if you’re ever in Dublin, you’d be coco-cray-cray to give this one a miss.

Now, back to reality.
