As I packed my suitcase on Boxing Day last year, preparing myself for our spur of the moment family getaway, I didn’t quite know what to expect. Admittedly, i’m always a little doubtful – and a tad testy – when i’m not packing sun cream. But isn’t that always how our most magical moments begin? You know, when you have no expectations, no preconceptions, and no idea what you’re about to discover…
And what a gorgeous hidden gem we found – what i like to call the modest marvel that is Montenegro.
December is by no means the most popular time of year to visit, i’ll admit. Yet there was something about the quiet, tranquil atmosphere that made its beauty just exacerbate – like i was looking at it under a huge microscope or shining a huge spotlight on this small Balkan splendour (maybe that explains the brilliant sunshine). The fortified town of Kotor with its cobbled streets, lagoon-like bay and the beautiful Saint Tryphon Cathedral honestly made me feel like i was stepping into another time. Before being transported straight back to the future via the stylish Porto Montenegro in Tivat, where i found myself surrounded by luxurious yachts, surprisingly without any ounce of pretentiousness. And the best was yet to come – yep, one of the tastiest pizzas i’ve ever had in the charming Al Posto Giusto restaurant. A really cool place with hand-written decor on the walls, friendly staff, stunning views of the port…and did i mention the wood stove pizzas?
So this is my first post on Montenegro and i’m sure it won’t be my last. But for now, I’ll let the pictures do the talking…
I like this place too, I was excited to see this place when I watched the James Bond movie the casino royale star by Daniel Craig on the last part of the movie where you can see the beauty of peras island. I know you really enjoy the wall city and hiking the fortress .

It really is beautiful, and feels as though it’s undiscovered somewhat. Unfortunately i didn’t bump into Daniel Craig while i was there…maybe next time! Thank you for stopping by x
